Gearing up for the call

Leaving for training soon

It feels like a long time coming but also a short time for us as we prepare to leave for training Sunday January 5th. We will be moving to Union Mill, NC. The CIT training center there will be our home for the next 5 weeks as we learn more about our own relationship with God, our call in mission, mission work, and cross cultural ministry. It is an exciting time, but we have found ourselves nervously awaiting this day. After such a good holiday season it is hard to think that a lot of what we are doing is our "last," for a while. Last Christmas supper in America, last New Year's Eve fireworks for a while, last laughs with some friends. All of this at times feels like a reason to not answer the call (how silly is that!). But each time we have gotten discouraged or doubted God has sent someone to remind us. Like the other day I (Kristi) was sitting at work, sad that these are my last days in my job, and my coworker walked in and just said, "Don't look backwards, keep your hand to the plow." How Good our God is to use those around us, to keep us focused. So keep us in your prayers, we will be praying for all you as well, and let's pursue God daily!
